Vintage Set of 11 Meito China Celestine Fruit Bowls, Rust and Gold Border

This is a set of 11 Meito China bowls in the Celestine pattern. Each has a creamy ivory scalloped rim edged with a rust-red leaf border, yellow scrollwork, tiny white flowers, and a fine gold line at the edge. A delicate scalloped ring decorates the center of each bowl. At 5.4" across, they work as fruit, berry, dessert, or sauce bowls, and they also hold nuts, candy, or small sides at a party. A set this size is a good start for a vintage china collection or a holiday table. The backstamp reads "James Japanese China, Meito China, Made in Japan, Celestine." Part of our vintage finds collection.
