Vintage Pair of Old World Globe Bookends, Wood Bookends with Map Globes

This is a pair of vintage wood bookends, each holding a small old world style globe in a brass-tone ring. The globes have an antique map design in warm tones, with sailing ships, sea creatures, and a compass rose. The rings are marked with latitude zones and mounted on brass-tone pivots. The L-shaped bases are in a deep brown wood finish. They hold a row of books on a shelf or desk, and they suit a library, den, home office, or traditional study. They also make a nice gift for a traveler, teacher, or map lover. A paper label on the underside reads "Made in Taiwan R.O.C." Part of our vintage finds collection.

Condition: vintage patina and light wear to the wood edges, there is a gap in the wood on one of the bookends, see photos.
