Fascinating and rare Mid-Century Modern Japanese style four panel byobu screen by Lucien Leinfelder (American 1932-2018). Multi-talented artist and noted concert pianist Leinfelder launched a successful second career as a painter later in life. His multi-panel screens were sought after by collectors worldwide even gracing a palace wall of HRH Queen Elizabeth. Crafted from acrylic on board depicting an idyllic flora and fauna landscape with songbirds and pheasants. Painted border with artist signature on lower left corner. Very heavy and solid wood panels connected with metal hardware. Amazing to view in person with intricate details and textures. Leinfelders inspiring life is the subject of a documentary "The Pianist who played through Parkinsons.".
